About this design

> “Why do you believe that?”
< “Because I saw it online.”

Social media feels like a representative window of the world. It isn't. It is a feed powered by an algorithm that has an objective. The objective is never to give you a balanced view of reality, rather to keep you as long as possible on the platform. You get more of what you already respond to. A little more outrage, a little more confirmation, and a little more of whatever made you stop scrolling last time.

What you see shapes how you think. What you think shapes what you do. And what you do tells the algorithm what to show you next. And so it continues this loop where the lines blur between where your opinion ends and the feed begins.

Artificial feeds mimic real life. Or maybe real life has started mimicking artificial feeds. At this point, it is hard to tell which one is the original.
